Earth Day 2024
We celebrated Earth Day on the 22nd of April. In rang a haon, we decided that a good way to give back to nature was to make a bug hotel for the pollinators in our school garden so they have a place to rest and shelter. We reused clean yogurt drink bottles and scavenged in our school field and hedges to find things to decorate the hotel rooms that the bugs might like, like twigs, feathers, flowers, pinecones etc. We hope the bugs like it!
STEM Challenge: April 2024
STEM Challenge: Building a Bridge!
The main bridge in our town was affected by a freak storm that occurred last week! The students in first class have been called upon to rebuild the bridge. They could only use straws and tape to build a bridge that would be strong enough to hold the weight of up to three toy cars.
The students worked in teams of five to plan, create and test out their bridges. They showed great teamwork skills, patience and perseverance throughout this challenge.
Well done Rang a hAon!
